Dr. Maggie Chao

Dr. Maggie ChaoDr. Maggie T. Chao earned her DMD from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She then furthered her training at Harvard to sharpen her diagnostic and clinical skills with a residency in Prosthodontics. Dr. Chao is excited to meet you and to find out how she can best take care of you.

Dr. Yi Luo

Dr. Yi Luo earned her DDS from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2016.  She completed not just one residency, but two!  Her first was an AEGD at UCLA where she found a fondness and inclination for complex dentistry.  She pursued her education in Prosthodontics at UCSF and graduated with numerous honors. Dr. Luo picked Prosthodontics as her specialty because it is the heart of dentistry.  Prosthodontists strive to understand function and develop a smile that can last because the bite or occlusion is balanced.   Dr. Luo feels that Prosthodontics is the ultimate blend of art and science.

When it comes to science, one of Dr. Luo’s many accomplishments is that she has published numerous articles.  The most recent of which studies dental implant risk factors.  Out of this collaborative study, she and her colleagues developed an online interactive risk assessment that lets people learn about their risk factors for dental implant treatment.  Feel free to take the assessment at www.mydentalrisk.com and to ask Dr. Luo about it!

Dr. Luo joined Pleasanton Prosthodontics in 2020.  Dr. Chao and Dr. Luo hit it off immediately when they started talking 3D dentistry.  Patients have taken to Dr. Luo also—not only is she good with her hands, she is a technology whiz and kind-hearted to boot!

Personally, Dr. Luo grew up in Beijing, China and she studied Stomatology at Peking University.  She and her husband are new parents and are enjoying the adventure of raising their son here in Pleasanton.  Please come by to meet Dr. Luo if you haven’t already!

Dr. Olivia Nguyen

Pleasant Prosthodontics is pleased to welcome Dr. Olivia Nguyen to our dental team!

Dr. Nguyen has many accolades! She earned a DDS from New York University’s College of Dentistry, where she was inducted into a national dental honors society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, as the top 10 percent of her class. She then became a prosthodontic resident at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she earned a Master of Medical Science in Oral Biology with a Certificate in Prosthodontics. During her residency, Dr. Nguyen worked as an associate in a private office, oversaw dental students as a clinical instructor, and was promoted to Chief Resident. Throughout her education, Dr. Nguyen has received many awards for her research and clinical case presentations at national dental conferences. At these events, she was able to showcase her favorite type of prosthetic treatment—highly esthetic, surgical implant cases!

Dr. Nguyen is trained in all facets of prosthodontics from dentures, veneers, crowns and bridges, to implant surgery. She is passionate about providing the highest of care to all patients and became a prosthodontist so she can bring back smiles with her artistic and creative skill.

Dr. Nguyen loves giving back to her community. While obtaining her DDS, Dr. Nguyen volunteered at local schools and community centers in New York’s underserved communities. She also extended her passion for dentistry globally, where she provided dental care and education to children in Nicaragua, Mexico, and Nepal.

When she’s not busy volunteering, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, trying new foods, quality time with her dogs Kai and Tahoe, snowboarding at North Star, and tackling DIY home improvements. As a born and raised Californian, her favorite food is In-N-Out!

Dr. Nguyen looks forward to providing excellent prosthodontic care to the East Bay!
